Born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, Alan grew up in New Jersey, about 100 miles from New York City. From 8 years old to college, he practiced football, baseball, athletics, tennis, and competitive sailing. He studied engineering at Northeastern University in Boston and later completed a master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Babson College.
Alan worked in venture capital investment funds and was a founder of technology companies in Boston. Even after college, competitive sailing remained one of his passions. For over 13 years he has decided to live and work in Brazil. After he and his wife "Bella" found a house in Bahia, the priority was to buy a sailboat. Looking for a good sailboat, he discovered hundreds of Hobie Cats throughout Brazil.
Although he sailed in monohulls all his life, he decided to try the Hobie Cat. And so began his relationship with the Hobie Cat Company in 2013. Alan leads Hobie Brazil and brings the revolutionary Hobie kayaks to our country.
Emanoel Lessa is from Rio de Janeiro, but has always been from Ceará. Member of the Hobie Fishing Team, technical consultant of Hobie and member of the permanent committee that organizes the fishing competitions of the mark. The fishery arose in his life still in the time of child, in the place of the grandfathers, where the capture of gigantic faces, measuring 5 cm, made his heart beat stronger.
He joined Hobie by buying his first kayak brand in 2014.
Emanoel is honored to receive the 3rd edition of HFB in his city of heart, something that he believes is a milestone in sport fishing in kayaks of his region, and to assume the position of coordinator of the event. If it depends on his commitment, the competitors will leave Ceará and Hobie Fishing Brasil 3 already miss the event and look forward to next year's edition.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Motta has been a fisherman for more than 30 years. He joined Hobie first as a client, later joined the Hobie Fishing Team, of which he is the current captain, became a technical consultant for the brand and a member of the permanent commission that organizes the fishing competitions that Hobie carries out and acts in them as Director from the first edition of Hobie Fishing Brasil.
Enthusiastic about fishing as the use of artificial baits and the practice of "fishing and - as soon as possible - release", after making use of various types of boat in sport fishing, he found in the kayak the ideal driving to take him to certain points of under previously unimaginable conditions.
Sergio sees HFB3 as an excellent diffusion tool for competitive sport fishing and promoting integration and fraternization among kayakers fishermen from various parts of our country.
